John Libby is an Okaloosa County native. John joined AnchorsGordon as a litigation associate after graduating from law school and has been with the firm ever since. In 2022, John became a partner and has distinguished himself as a trusted advisor and advocate for his clients.

John has experience in a broad range of civil litigation disputes in state and federal court and has represented clients in numerous industries, including real estate development and construction, restaurants and hospitality, property management, community association management, and commercial and residential landlord-tenant matters. John has significant experience in intra- and inter-corporate disputes, including shareholder derivative actions and trade-secret/restrictive covenant litigation, as well as extensive experience representing real estate buyers and sellers in non-disclosure disputes.

With honors, John received his law degree from Florida State University College of Law. John also received his undergraduate degree in Finance from the Florida State University College of Business. In addition to earning academic honors, John volunteered his time to assist needy military veterans and was recognized for his Distinguished Pro Bono Service. John served as a law clerk to the Honorable Michael C. Overstreet, former Circuit Judge in the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit in Panama City. He also served as a law clerk for the Florida Office of the Attorney General, State Programs Branch, assisting in federal and state civil litigation matters.

John is active in the community, having served on the Board of Directors of the Okaloosa County Bar Association for several years, including as Past President. John also served many years on the Board of Directors for the Emerald Coast Science Center.

John and his wife, Christina, live in Niceville, along with their two daughters. In his spare time, you are likely to find John experimenting in the kitchen, hacking it on the golf course, or reading a good book.
